Our College Hostel...

The hostellers enjoy easy access to:-

  • Ragging free environment
  • TV Room
  • Reading Room
  • Canteen providing healthy and wholesome food
  • Rooms having attached toilets
  • Airy Rooms

The Superintendent, Asst. Superintendent and other supporting staff, nominated/engaged by the Principal are in the charge of the internal management of the hostel. SC/ST students are given admission in the Hostel on preference basis on production of Caste Certificate from the Revenue Officer/Tahasildar.


All outsiders, except the members of staff and college employees must sign in the Visitors Book while visiting the hostel and state the reasons for the visit. The parents or guardians of the boarder may meet the latter with prior permission from the Superintendent.

College Sports...

The College provides many facilities for sporting activities within its premises. There are provisions and equipments for more than 9 different sports. It is therefore no surprise that for many years this facility is continuously provided to the students of this college. The campus fields and facilities for a number of indoor and outdoor games including the following

  • Cricket (international standard wicket with dressing room and gallery facility)
  • Basketball
  • Badminton
  • Volleyball
  • Football
  • Yoga ( for students and staff members )
  • Chess

Red Cross...

The aims of the Red Cross Group are as follows:-

  • Promotion of health.
  • Service to the sick and suffering.
  • International friendliness.

A member of the teaching staff selected by the Principal will remain incharge of the group. The group shall not have more than 50 active members and all the students of the College are members.

The executive committee shall consists of a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman and Secretary. They shall be selected from among the students who enroll themselve as active members of the group. The election to the posts mentioned above will be held in the manner determined by the Principal. A fee of Rs.5/- will be collected from a student in the beginning of the each academic year and the amount will be deposited in a separate passbook. The Principal will operate the accounts of the groups.

College Library...

The college has a well-stocked library with more than 90,000 volumes, and reading room facilities. The Reading Room in annexed in Annexe Building, can accommodate more than a hundred readers at a time. The libraries are run by well trained, well educated and well experienced staffs. There are, in addition, Seminar Libraries for the benefit of students in honors courses. The library provides 2mbps Broadband Internet facilities.

Besides each Department of the College has a Seminar Library for which Books and Journals are procured every year for the use of students and teachers.

Computer center...

Our the College have a separate Computer Centre of its own, the Computer are used by the Students and the Staff as when required. The Centre has a total number of 15 P.Cs and 1 Printer. All the Computers in this Centre have P-3/P-4 processor, 500 GB Hard Disk and 4 GB RAM. The operating system is Windows8 . The College has already approached UGC for a Computer Centre and one Net Work Resource Centre. The proposal of the College is under active consideration of UGC.

Computers available in other departments are listed below :-


  • Each department of the college have at least one or more Pentium dual core computers with internet facility. Two new computer labortory have constructed for the department of Mathematics and Statistics.
  • The laboratory has access to Internet. The students as well as the faculty members are allowed to access at this laboratory.
  • The department of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Statistics, Anthropology, Economics, Education, Psychology have one Computer each.
  • The Department of Zoology has got a Computer with a Scanner and a Laser Printer.
  • The Autonomous Examination Section has a Computer with necessary peripherals like Scanner and Printer. The Examination Section has been fully computerized.
  • The College Examination Cell has a Computer.
  • The Office has also got a Computer with a Printer.

College Canteen...

Our College Canteen maintain very hygiene quality food. Our Canteen is located near the ground floor. The canteen is meant only for the bonafide students and staffs of this college. Our canteen servers a good quality food and it is economical too.

The College Canteen is a large spacious area, with a view of greenery all around, and a variety of refreshments and meals available. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions and even work on assignments and projects. Canteen also has chips, kurkure, toffees, chocolates etc. in addition to other things. So our canteen is not less than any good Cafeteria of the city but it is so much more to us than just a cafeteria because our memories of the college life are added with it. Almost in every instance there is the mention of the college canteen.


First AID Facility...

All student of the college are subject to monthly medical check up to ensure optimum growth at all stages. All students will be under the supervision of an expert.A college staff with one medical professional will moniter the students,advise and regulate the life style such as exrecise,diet,medicines and vitamins intake. The school has basic medical facilities define the health care centre. Our school can handle situations by providing immediate relief in the form of first-aid.


National Social Service (NSS)...

After the lapse of more than a decade, the college has reactivated its National Social Service (NSS) Unit. This will help integrate college education with the needs of its social environment. National Service Scheme (N.S.S) was launched as a voluntary association during the year of 1978. It is aimed at developing student's personality through community service from the campus to community. N.S.S. programs is aimed at enabling the volunteers to involve themselves in the task of nation building.


On the Above background, the NSS volunteers and NSS-Programme officers of Swarnachud College have created special identity among the needy mass of locality as well as the hill forest environmental area of mitrapur.


We organize different Normal and special camping Programme in our adopted village. The following different social works, awareness activities and environmental protection programmes have been under taken by us.

  • Creation of awareness about sanitation, AIDS Afforstation, Women empowerment and literacy etc.
  • Cleaning and Renovation of ponds, polls and wells of our adopted villages.
  • Motivation of Tribal and different rural people of hilly and forest area against Deforestation, Forest Fire, Superstitions and Loss of Biodiversity.
  • Moreover the NSS-units of Our college observe the following absorbance day in every year.

  • World AIDS Day on 1st December.
  • NSS Day, On 24th September.
  • Sadvabana Divas, On 20th August.
  • Teachers Day , On 5th September.
